Re: Thoughts/idea formore life from riser (crusader)
You can also use a flush system to "blow out" your intakes if you cap the hoses to the raw water pump. Sure beats diving in cold water...

Re: Thoughts/idea formore life from riser (crusader)
DO NOT connect dock pressure directly to the flush kit, you will blow the raw water pump shaft seal out of the pump and destroy the bearing, ask me how I know  , if you have a Sherwood pump - you know you don't want to buy more than one. $$$ Interesting. Our boat came with a flush system con...

If nothing else is put together, maybe some of us who are in the mid-Bay can get together. We are about 10 miles south of you.

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
After a bunch of research, I decided to pretty much standardize on 3M 4000 instead of Life Caulk. I thought it would prove to be more versatile for me. So far, I am happy with my choice.

How about 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive like used on automobile windshields? You can get it in black. http://www.amazon.com/3M-08008-Black-We ... B00063X38MJimmy wrote:Hoping to find an adhesive vs caulk, but for now it is pretty snug.

Re: OK So where are my holding tank fittings 1985 10 meter
Blueflu, most likely when you have your holding tank pumped, it is going to a sewage treatment plant that treats the waste and then pumps it into the same waterways we boat on. The current generation of Type 1 MSDs probably do a better overall job of waste treatment than the average sewage treatment...

Re: Canvas Projects
Gitchisum, my wife's good machine is a Bernina, and I am hoping it will be fine sewing through a few layers of fabric and one isinglass. She also has some old singer portables and I am going to see if one of them will work for light canvas work. If it does, we might take it on the boat when we do so...

Re: Canvas Projects
We have been doing our own canvas repairs for a few years. My wife has an expensive sewing machine that does not have a walking foot, but so far, it has worked well. This year, we have to sew through a vinyl window which should be a good test. We do have a commercial sewing machine, but lent it to m...

Re: OK So where are my holding tank fittings 1985 10 meter
If you have a Raritan Hold-N-Treat system, the previous owner may not have installed a pump out fitting. Adding one would be a good thing if you have to go through any no discharge zones. Kind of strange having a treatment system with a holding tank if you don't have a pump out fitting. Most boats t...

Re: Winter Tarp Questions
Now that the winter is over, I thought I would update with what I learned. Overall, the system worked out great. It held up through a windy winter season and kept the boat dry. The only concern I have at this point is how well the nylon tarp is going to hold up. It looks a bit like rip-stop nylon, b...

Re: Whens your launch?
You guys are making me look bad! I promised my wife to build a large shed this spring, so the boat is sitting and not being worked on. I did buy a bunch of parts for projects over the winter, so besides bottom paint and everything else that needs to be done below the water line, I have some ma...

Re: F32 leaking windows
look into captains creak, its a penetrating epoxy sealer, i plan to try some on my windshield, only leave in rough seas and not at rest I think you might be referring to Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure, which looks to me to be a water based latex rubber product. Our boat came with a lot of gel...

Re: Flooring and cabinets
There are two reasons for lifting the cabinets to the same height as the floor: 1) You lose almost an inch of counter height if the cabinet is below the flooring. 2) If you have a built in device that is under the countertop and you need to slide it out for repair, the flooring will trap it in place...

Re: Flooring and cabinets
I would put the cabinets on a piece of plywood that is the same thickness as the hardwood floor, and then put the hardwood in so that it can be removed to make repairs. That way, the cabinets are the right height, you are not paying hardwood prices or doing the extra work to install where you only n...
