Re: Driving a Single Screw Inboard

You have probably seen folks who have taken shots at making their own stern thrusters out of trolling motors. While most that are devised of a single trolling motor do not offer much help, I thought this one was interesting in that it combined two motors which I think would double or nearly double t...

Try this one: The topic is 'Max RPM 2800". The detailed prop discussion for an F36 begins on page 4 of this thread.

Re: New guy looking to buy a F-26

You have really done your homework. I have never seen the Krusin Cool. That is an interesting setup. Regarding the unit that sits on the floor, I was on an F26 that had a unit like this. The owner took out the corner of the dinette bench (where the short part of the bench meets the long part of the ...

Re: New guy looking to buy a F-26

Other boats in the Trojan line up that might fit your requirements would be the F28 and the F30. Both were available with single engines although the majority available seem to be twin engines. Any of these boats would have lots of room for a generator and marine AC especially in a single engine set...

Disregard my last message. I was looking at the picture of your F26.

Re: F36 Tricabin

Congratulations on the new boat. It looks like it has a hard top. I don't think I have ever seen a TriCabin with a hardtop other than a few that were obvious custom or aftermarket jobs. This one looks like it may be factory. Any idea if Trojan offered a hardtop for the TriCab? How is the headroom un...

Re: Unleaded Gas & Valve Seats

Is sounds like the pending regulation in the 1970's for unleaded fuel led manufacturers to get in front of the issue by planning for harder valve seats. In that same era or a little earlier, it sounds like American/Amoco figured out that deposits on the valves where the bigger culprit and harder val...

Re: Unleaded Gas & Valve Seats

Thank you very much for the great information. With as many older marine engines that are still being used and run on unleaded gas, I assumed it that it was probably not an issue but did not know why. It is especially interesting knowing that American went to unleaded in their premium fuel long befo...

Unleaded Gas & Valve Seats

Does anyone know if older gasoline marine engines are vulnerable to valve seat damage from running the engines without the lead additive? My understanding is that car manufacturers began using hardened valve seats to avoid premature wear on the valve seats when unleaded gas was mandated . Is there a...

The Next Trojan

I am not sure if this belongs on this forum or on pontifications, but I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are around what current day boat manufacturer might hold a similar spot in the future that Trojan holds today. In other words, if we fast forward to say 2040 or 2050, what boat brand that i...

Re: New to Trojan...looking at 1976 F28

I think the F28 has a modified v hull which may not do well when the waves get above 3' or 4'. Since you mentioned that you are new to Trojans, one thing you may want to be aware of is that many of the F series Trojans have direct drive transmissions but the F28 has v-drives. V-drives may not be as ...

Re: F30 clean machine rescue

They were lucky to have help so close by. They did not say how they got the holes or how big they were but it sure sounded like they were taking on water at a rapid pace. Having "crash valves" installed may have helped them out.

Models of Trojan Boats

I have seen remote control models available of an F31but none for any other Trojan boat. Has anyone ever seen model kits for any other Trojan boat model?

Re: Government shutdown

The news that Target is no longer offering health insurance to part time workers cannot be a good thing for those folks. Home Depot and Trader Joe's recently did the same thing indicating that they can no longer afford to offer this benefit. It is becoming clear that this is the type of fallout that...
