Re: Trojan 54' Motoryacht

This Trojan started out as a 53 with a wood hull and factory covered with fiberglass. The 54 was all fiberglass was built to compete with the very popular Hatteras 53. the 53 and the 54 look identical in every way. They were built in the Canadian plant and in fact when they closed the plant this mod...

No problem. I really wish they would come up with a see through system for the inboard boats. It makes it so easy to see whats going on. Good luck with the boat :D

Looking at your photos it looks like your fuel filters have the plastic bottoms. If that is true you might want to change them to the steel bottoms. The plastic ones really shouldn't be used inside a gas engine room.

Todd, Do you have any photos of the boat out of the water? Napier's bottoms all have a pretty deep V and the stern.

I use prop speed on the big boat It seems to work but we still need to have a diver brush the props every 90 days.

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems

I like the skyhook (station keeping) idea. They claim its good for 10 to 12 ft. Would this work next to a dock? No, and only a fool would try it but it would come in handy while you are waiting for a bridge or a fuel dock. Ships have been using DP for years so its only a matter of time before the ya...

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems

The 42K is just for the boat. dockage, food, fuel, crew tip, and booze is extra. On average a one week trip is about 70K I just did a 3 day with some Russians and the wine bill was 7,480.00!! I am sure I could get that down a bit for a Trojanboats.net member but you need to talk to Aaron for the fre...

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems

With all that what do you even need to be on the boat for! Just sit at home on your computer with an uplink to the yacht! Get a few video cameras for views around the boat and you're all set! funny you should say that, I can look up the boats course, speed, and track line from my iphone or a comput...

Re: Boat Handling and POD systems

In my industry electronics have created some pretty crappy captains. When I started on yachts if you wanted to be a captain on a ocean going vessel you needed to know celestial navigation. It was real simple, you can't DR your way transatlantic and if you didn't have those skills you didn't get the ...

Re: 78 F32 fuel fill deck plates

Yes mine are the same. I'm just replacing the hoses because of deterioration. Hoping the pipes are in good shape and don't need replacing...they do have copper bonding straps on all 4 tanks (fills). Mine is a 77 and when I replaced the tanks last year the pipe was in pretty bad shape. There was no ...

Re: 78 F32 fuel fill deck plates

Mine are straight but made out of pipe and hose, not just hose, and my pipe and fitting is grounded to the tank. I think if you change over to just hose you will need to get a deck fitting that you can connect a ground wire to.
