Again, thanks Larry
My transmission are marked for rotation, velvet drives. The water pumps I suppose could be figured out by which way the engine will turn them.
The starters might be a challenge, could put a battery to them and see which way they spin.
Really appreciate all the help, Jim

Re: Engine rotation
Thanks Larry,
That's exactly what I was looking for! I knew you guys wouldn't let me down. I feel a lot better now. Now to figure out the alternator and raw water pumps.
Anything else I should be thinking about?
Thanks guys.

Engine rotation
I'm a little embarrassed to ask this question. I removed the chrysler 318s from my boat, ordered two new long blocks and removed all the components off the old engines. That was a few months ago and I thought I had everything mark well, now I'm starting to think I didn't mark them good enough. Which...

Re: Remote oil filters
Big D, thanks for the info. What is a full flow design? I was thinking of making a bracket that would bolt on to the bell housing holding the remote filter in that position. The filter would be screwed on with the gasket up. Do you think it would siphon the oil back when the motor is shut off? Paul,...

Remote oil filters
I was thinking of putting remote oil filters on my 318's. Mr Gasket sells one that looks good but states not for marine use. Any thoughts why they would not be ok in a boat? I would love to have oil filters in an easy place to change and not risk oil dripping in the bilge. Thanks in advance for your...

Refinishing my F-32
Haven't been on here much, always reading but not posting. Last fall I had my F-32 trucked home from Lake Superior to my shop in Stillwater, Mn. One motor lost a cylinder so I felt I should have it brought home to fix. Since then I have decided to rebuild both 318's, while they are out I thought wha...

Re: matching teak plywood f36
Try using Cherry wood, just a clear coat on it looks very close to what the teak looks like in your boat.

Re: The dreaded Hollow Keel - again
Anybody thought of putting closed cell foam or cement in the hollow keel? I have to do something with mine this winter.
Thanks, Jim

Re: Need some advice on varnishing
Epiphane is a great product. I used 10 coats on my exterior teak using only Epiphane high gloss, diluting like the instructions say then switching to straight out of the can. My interior I sanded lightly and used Epiphane satin. I think gloss or satin would look good on the interior. Diluting per in...

Re: Paint suggestion.....
I don't have any pics of mine but I used 1/4" cherry plywood. I put maybe 6 coats of Epiphane high gloss on them and they look awesome. Cherry looks very close to the teak borders.
