Re: Interior Ideas for 1976 F32

I was at Bay Point for 9 years and have since moved to Hampton. Seeing how Bay Point is part of Little Creek Marina and i have a 26' boat they could lift be with their fork lifts, however you are working in a paved parking lot with some car traffic at Little Creek marina. I've hauled out at Cutty Sa...

Re: 2016 Cheasapeke bay rendevouis Poll

I'm always interested in going to these but can never make it. Work, family or weather always seem to affect my boating plans.

Re: Tides up

Hope she survived unscathed. We still had about 4 to 5 feet of piling left at Old Point Comfort yesterday at 3:30 (highest tide). The break water was underwater though.

Dog House, Check out this youtube video. Obviously things are little different between a wood boat model on a towel and the real world but I thought you might gain something from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjUMocc1_4w Here's another link that gives some good info. http://dunncruisingguide.c...

Re: chrysler replacement alternator??

I guess it's built in. I really never figured out how it works. When I start the motor, I have to rev it up to above 1000 rpms for the alternator to start generating. I guess it freewheels at low rpms so it's easy to start. Maybe someone else can chime in who knows how these things work or if the 3 ...

Re: chrysler replacement alternator??

I believe beaconmarine has alternators for Chryslers.

I purchased mine from Ebay a couple of years ago and haven't had a problem. Mine was the single wire type though.

Re: Wet Exhaust Mufflers

I'd love to find where to buy these Salisbury Units. I couldn't find any suppliers online.

Re: Wet Exhaust Mufflers

You may want to check to see if you are pumping enough water. The water in a wet exhaust system helps muffle the sound. When my impeller locked up (i.e. no water); the exhaust note instantly changed. Was the engine temp in normal range?

Just something to consider.

Re: Engine Circuit Breaker

I had no idea that the 1971 F26's were in such demand that people would try to steal them. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on my 1972. Sorry to hear you had to experience this. Things seem to disappear from boats at my old marina quite a bit. Funny thing is, if I forget to put a brush or pail away,...

There's only two chambers. The exhaust chamber and the coolant chamber. The ports are all connected to the coolant chamber.

Re: Replacing Raw Water Pump Impellers

Take a picture of the pump while it's on the motor so you can see which way to reinstall it. It's easy to switch it around and make it pump the wrong way.

I've got a V-drive setup so the engine is facing to stern. The drain plug is at the front of the engine (toward the stern) so it's pretty easy to access for me.

Re: 360 aluminum oil pan

I place a oil catch container (similar to one you put under your car) under the drain plug and drain the oil into that. While it's draining, I suck the oil out of the container with a suction pump. I have to do it this way because there's no way to get the container out from under the engine without...
