The phosphoric acid content in Coke is much higher than Pepsi. The pH of Coke is about 1.2. For cleaning, Coke is much better than Pepsi.

Coca Cola. Pour it directly on the stain and let it sit there for 20 to 30 minutes if possible. It should look like new afterwards. I'm a big tea drinker, and I use Coca Cola every now and then to get rid of the tea stain in my mug. It works great.

Re: Thanks

it's a challenge I have never even driven a boat before now I'm working in it every weekend. Wolf If you have never driven a boat before, I would recommend you find someone with SINGLE SCREW INBOARD experience to teach you the basics. Single screw inboards drive very differently than sterndrives or...

I have a 1971 F26 with the original manual. If you PM me your email address, I should be able to email you the information.

I like the layout. When you say the model started in 1975, you mean the flybridge model? I have a 1971 F26, but it's not a flybridge. Is this your boat? http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h333/ringandersen/KGrHqNosE8VhFwgg-BPJYkRNg60_12.jpg The one above (my book page) is a 261 which I think launc...

What horsepower is the 273? With the 225 hp 318, cruise is around 18 knots. I'm not sure you would want to go much slower than that.

Thanks, Jeff. I checked out that thread, but didn't see anything about spray paint with anti-fouling properties. I'll check it again to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I was a coxswain in the USCGAUX. We had to complete almost all of the tasks that the active duty guys did. The year I earned my coxswain pin, I was on the water every other weekend.

Paint for Strut and Rudder

What paint would be recommended for the strut and rudder of a 1971 F26? Both the strut and rudder are made out of bronze. The spray paint at the local marine dealer was for aluminum only (they deal in outboards and sterndrives). I'd prefer spray paint, preferably with anti-fouling properties but I c...

From what I've seen "up North", $10K would be the best I would expect. Down in Florida where you can actually use a boat the whole year, I wouldn't be surprised if the prices were higher.
