After that I stained it with interlux chris craft stain and applied 18 coats of varnish...Came out great. It too...

I did that on my 56 sea queen not too long ago. I used a dremmel tool (grout removal bit and guide, which worked great). I did put down one coat of thinned varnish before the caulking.

My '56 Sea Queen has no name painted on it...it does name a metal name "trojan boats" on the dash board.

I can't tell you about that. I was a MOPAR mechanic, and the heads on 318's were made for 340's and 383's...and don't exactly line up causing large carbon blocks through the intake manifold right under the Carb. 318's are prone to carbon blocks in the intake manifolds which will affect the air fuel mix. When the engine is warm, check the temp around the carb. on the intake manifold..the temp should be the same...if not, you have a blockage. Also check the weights on the distributors....these should be free....

Oh, yeah, sanding and caulking. Welcome to the world of restoring wooden boats. They do pay off by looking great, and once the hard stuff is done, it's surprisingly easy to keep them looking good. A mooring cover really helps maintain your work, even if the boat sits outside. I like to go with trea...

Welcome, Dave. Nice to hear from another Runabout owner. What's the condition of your Sea Queen? Have you had it in the water since you got it? Do you have vintage power for it? Let me know if you want to be listed in the Runabout Owners Group here on the site or in the e-mail ring. There are a few...
