I drew up a little sketch to try and illustrate what's going on here. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab96/vabeach1234/Trojan%20F26/Trojan%20Galley/1972F26StringerSketch.jpg Thanks to prowlersfishs advice this is what I plan to do. Bed the loose stringer to the hull with 5200, let it cure for 7 d...

My hat goes of to Prowlersfish.
I just want to thank Paul "Prowlersfish" publicly for taking time out of his day to stop by and give me advice on my loose stringer issue this Sunday. Just a top notch kind of guy. Very informative, knowledgeable and encouraging. He had some great ideas and has given me a plan of attack. H...

Paul, That would be great if you could come by, I need all the advice I can get. And some motivational support, my moral gets lower and lower the further I dig. I'm gonna try to get down to the boat tomorrow, Sunday Oct. 25th, probably around noon or so. I'll shoot you a private message with my phon...

Well upon further investigation of my hull stringer layout I've decided that I'm almost in over my head. It appears that there is a defect in my hull stringer design, in my opinion. On the starboard side, the two glass over foam stringers stop at the blukhead between the cabin and engine comparment....

Yeah, I'll be out there provided this repair and galley remodel goes smoothly. Hopefully the weather and fish cooperate this year. Last year every weekend was blowing like crazy and the fish never seemed to be around when I got out there. I certainly didn't hinder the striper population with last ye...

1972 F26 Hull Under Galley
Well I finally decided to investigate the hull under the galley of my 1972 F26 Express Hardtop. When I redid the bottom I noticed the hull flexes excessively under the galley. I removed the galley; I plan on lowering the counter 1 or 2 inches and rotating the sink 90 degrees and get rid of the elect...

Here's some pictures of my F26 on the hill. http://s853.photobucket.com/albums/ab96/vabeach1234/Trojan%20F26/ You want two wood block supports at the keel, that is the main support. The stands provide stability. The yard where I had the boat hauled, only used 4 stands, I added the other ones because...

I have a 1972 F26 with the same engine/v-drive setup. The universal joint broke on the previous owner and broke the housing (number 38 on http://www.marinegears.com/catalog/cat-pp-08.html ) He welded it and then coated it in epoxy. That's been years ago and it's held up so far.

Here's a little history lesson.
They were made to save on steel during WWII. Then sunk to be a break water for the ferry before the CBBT was built. Pretty cool site to see. Check out the links below.

I thought about Cape Charles but was worried that about the entry at Plantation Light. It's tricky enough during the day. I've been into Cape Charles about 4 times before but during the day and didn't want to mess with unfamiliar range markers at night. Kiptapeake is about half way between cape chal...

Well I had the bright idea to break in spring with a trip to the concrete ships at Kiptopeke this past Saturday Night 4/18/09. The forecast called for southwest and south winds 5 to 10. Perfect for the concrete ships to block the wind. We left Little Creek, Norfolk, a little before 5:00 pm on Saturd...

Here at Bay Point at Little Creek, Norfolk, VA I pay $8.50/Foot per month. That includes water and 100 kilowatts of power per month, over that and you get an electricity bill. That comes out to $221/month for my 26 foot Trojan. Unfortunately one company is has bought up 3 of the marinas in Little Cr...
