Re: New to Trojan...looking at 1976 F28

Since 3-4 footers are the norm, that must be real fun in your 22' Bayliner. I think that the Trojan F-28 will do at least as well or better than what you are used to.

Re: F30 clean machine rescue

According to the accompanying written story ... "Coast Guard personnel dewatered the stricken boat and determined that the flooding aboard was attributable to a faulty engine fitting, the agency said." Sounds like water was coming in because of a through-hull failure connected to the engine.

Great price on a nice Tri-cabin

I just received a message from my friend who is a member of the forum and has his Tri-cabin listed by Bob on the for sale page and has for the past year. He has lowered the price on his '77 Tri-cabin to $13K because his wife had a stroke recently and he needs to have it sold. He had it listed here f...

Re: Is a Trojan a worthy brand to restore

Isn't Formula a family owned company? Formula is indeed a family owned company headquartered in the town I live in, Decatur, IN. The Porters are a great family and have given generously to the community having donated the property where the current new hospital stands. They survived the latest down...

Re: reaching wot of 4000 rpm

I had the same issue on my port side engine last year and found out that the choke was not opening completely and therefore, since it is a mechanical linkage, would not allow the 4bb to open. I wire tied the choke to the complete open position and voila! - she went to rated RPM at WOT. Just a though...

F25 on CL

Saw this on the Port Huron, MI CL today. Thought someone might be interested. Doesn't look too bad for the price.

Re: 454 bad vibration 1800rpm at dock

I was thinking if it was flywheel it would get worst and not go away in higher rpms. am I wrong? With vibrations of any sort (which are basically objects oscillating at a certain frequency) you are dealing also with harmonics, which are basically points where the pattern will repeat the behavior. I...

Re: Any Thoughts On Painting/Dying Headliner?

I have never painted mine but I do know that the holes must remain. From what I have read and understand, the holes are the means through which the headliner breathes. I think there are other threads here on the forum that address the issue that a simple search will turn up.

Re: REALLY NICE TROJAN F-40 DUAL MODE AFT CABIN

Nice looking boat - really clean.

But its for sale in Lewisville, TX - a suburb of Dallas/Ft Worth. Unless you find a buyer right there who wants to leave it there, that boat is a long way from the Gulf and thousands of $$$ to move her anywhere by truck.

Re: got my first trojan 36 tri cabin (1975)have a few questi

Welcome, and sounds like a great trip and shakedown cruise. We love our Tri-cabin and spend as much time as possible on her. Getting ready to pull her for the winter in about a week and have some winter projects lined up. We plan to take her to the North Channel and Georgian Bay for a couple of week...
