Geez Dave, I sure can't help you out. My Tricabin runs at about 110 degrees. Three years ago I overheated both engines after going thru a badly weeded area and subsequently fouled both intakes. As long as I limped along at idle the temp stayed down but if I increased the rpms even a little both engi...

DMatz, Just finished calking the top of the same side window frame that I assume you did. Mine had a lengthy space though, about 24 inches long where the calking had worn away and I am hoping that I am successful. Now just waiting for the rain. Meanwhile have thrown out my memory foam and am drying ...

Eric

I presume that you mean the door from the sole down into the rear stateroom (or did the '83's have a door there?)....... my '74 doesn't have any apparent provision for a screen door on either the door to the rear stateroom nor the door down into the salon from the cockpit.

Cheers

Yeah Rick, I was sort of suspicious it may have been those tracks being partially plugged enough to incur the inside dripping. On the outside of the boat, I cleaned out the water exit slots (four of 'em) located along the length and near the bottom of the lower steel window frame piece. So, tonite, ...

Window Leaking

The port side windows in the rear bedroom on my TriCabin are allowing water to get into the interior when it rains hard and it is very annoying. Yesterday I took the whole thing apart and currently am: 1. Replacing the water damaged trim. 2. Hopefully ending the leak itself. Those sliding window tra...

The thing I like about about my friend The Elevman is that I never ever want to get on an elevator that he has managed to get his hands on.......... just kidding Eman (BTW, is that the way to spell kidding?) .........Elevman replaced a bulkhead in a week-end!... and I invented the internet, not Al G...

Hi LSP, I see that I may be the first person jumping into this....... yeow. LSP, I would guess that this is a probably a really big project that you might be biting off. I've owned 6 wooden boats during my chequered boating past and actually "paid" to have 5 of them (runabouts) restored pr...

Hi Cuppa, Well one thing for sure, is the fact that my marina is not selling Ethynol mixed gasoline at this time. I believe that this ethynol situation is all downside for us though, with no real positive effects for boaters at all in that the E8 and E10 is documented to incur problems in some types...

Cuppa, My port side gas tank developed a leak three years ago (boy, do those fumes render the boat unlivable in a hurry ) and I had no choice on my TriCabin but to pull out the entire salon floor (new carpets and all... aughhhhh) and remove the offending tank. Upon checking, that particular tank was...

Asked the service guys at my marina and it turns out that my black box was removed years ago, before I had actually purchased the boat (1998). In the "old days" it looks as if my Tricabin had 1 battery per motor and these batteries were located at the front (toward the bow) of each v-drive...
