Re: F-32 Performance Curves
Bob, is there any chance you have similar performance curves for the F-36?

Note: that these numbers are Trojan specification.
True performance may be much less.
Trojan added a foot note to these numbers.
“Operators are cautioned to allow an adequate margin for variables when computing boat range”
The only way to get true performance numbers for the F 36 with Chrysler 440 is for other captains to share there performance number to this thread.

Re: F-32 Performance Curves
Bob, thanks for posting the data you have!
I will be glad to share mine as soon as I get my fuel flow sensors installed. I seriously doubt that I am going to get anywhere close to those figures as I am getting about 16 knots at 3100 RPM and 24 knots at 4000 RPM with a clean bottom and 18.5 x 19 props with no cup.

Re: F-32 Performance Curves
The performance numbers I posted seemed high to us but are very similar to the numbers Trojan states in 1974 and in 1976
The performance numbers were with a 2 to 1 trans and a 20 x 21 Bronze Prem prop.

Re: F-32 Performance Curves
Bob,
Do you have numbers for a 1990 F32 with 270 crusaders and 16x16 props?
Thanks

Andy the speed numbers would be the same as those are in the charts at the top as they are with the same 16x16 props . Fuel burn would be close also . Remeber these numbers are for a fresh out the box Trojan .

Re: F-32 Performance Curves
I didn't take a detailed look at these numbers until now... I see the notes under the summary table in the second picture talk about range in terms of statute miles, not nautical miles, so I am wondering if the speeds reported are in statute MPH and not knots? If the speeds shown ARE statute, my numbers are almost bang on at all RPMs after almost 40 years!

Re: F-32 Performance Curves
And someone posted the numbers were not possible on another thread "The coveted 20 knots cruise seems to be absolute top-end and only under absolute perfect condition"captainmaniac wrote:I didn't take a detailed look at these numbers until now... While I find them a little optimistic It is realistic to get close
FWIW My F36 with a total HP of 655 (vs 660 for the 440) tops out at 29+ knots (33.4 mph ) full fuel and water . My Boat is heavy due to My junk and lots of added gear , hard top etc
A friend with a F36 is getting a round 20 with 440s at 3000 stock props work on getting full rpm at this time (timing and carb issues and bottom could be better )

Re: F-32 Performance Curves
Yes F32s will run when you keep them up to spec . The Black Hull is one of our own repowered with Yanmars the other gas .
