Clogged Groco SV 1250 Valve and pictures

Post by BeaconMarineBob »

This valve was on a F 36 1989. The captain has had overheating problems for years. The pictures were sent to us today.

Groco SV valves were the most common valve Trojan used.

The one in the picture is a 1250 1 1/4” which is a common size for gas engines Trojans.

This was a superior valve because it could be completely rebuilt with out the valve being removed from the boat on the hard.

Problem the company that made the main part of the valve for Groco burned to the ground.

Thus Groco stop production of the valve.

We have parts for them and can still refurbish them.
