Reviving an old topic

Post by Stripermann2 »

I know this post is 14 years old but I'm interested in finding out if anyone in this topic, Rossjo, Nancy, etc ever found the absolute cause and solution to their water intrusion on their F32. viewtopic.php?t=148

Thanks!
Jamie

Yup, thanks Paul. Re-bedded just about everything but wanted to see if there was anything else that someone has come across...

I just removed the four pieces of gutter last weekend. And low and behold there were plenty of cracks. some large, some small. But I'm sure water was getting in from the cracks. So after a good sanding and acetone wash I filled the cracks with Thixoflex thickened epoxy. all that I still need to do is re bed the gutters and screw holes with 3M 5200. Including any screws that penetrate the flybridge floor.

Well I'm happy to say we got over an inch of rain and no more roof leaks. So the effort of taking the gutter off, cleaning the aluminum gutter down to well, aluminum. Then epoxy repairing all the roof seam cracks with Thixo thickened epoxy then re bedding the gutter in 5200 paid off...

Its been almost three weeks and the interior is all dry. Its been the wettest spring we have had in a long time too. So The effort is paying off for sure

Just saw this. I will have to do the same. The gutter will be coming off of mine soon for repair.
