I was not aware of any 10 meter aft cabin models as late as 1989

Perhaps you have a mid-cabin?

Here's a photo of an aft cabin model located at www.trojanboat.com:

FWIW the 10 meter express has 3 factory bilge pumps, each having it's own high water bilge alarm.

There are 3 manual override switches at the electrical panel with 3 red indicator lights

the 3 lights are duplicated at the helm instrument panel.

They also made a Flybridge aft cabin . But I believe they were only made in the earlier 80s .

thank you for that
it is indeed a mid-cabin
there are three switches on the electrical panel in the galley labeled bilge pump should those be on all the time?
I see one pump with a float switch in the engine compartment
where are the other two?

I have an express model, however they should be similar.

The 3 switches on panel are MANUAL OVRRIDE

turn them on(up) and the bilge pump(s) will run continuously

there are 3 indicator lights on the main panel which are duplicated at the helm

some of these have failed over the years due to age, neglect or lack of maintenance

On the express model there are 3 bilge pumps

One aft, at the center bottom of the bilge, at the transom

one in the engine room

and one under a floor hatch in the salon

In the original express each bilge pump area had a high water alarm that was tied to the boats horn, and the horn runs off the same circuit breaker system as the bilge pumps

when the boat is at rest, in the water, the lowest point is the forward bilge

Hope this helps.

The mid cabin also has three pumps.

1 in the forward bilge under the floor near the bathroom

1 in between the motors - i believe this one is labeled "mid" on my boat

1 all the way at the stern. this one is useless based on the way these boats sit.

Two horizontally mounted breakers near the three switches should be on at all times and if your pumps are wired correctly, the actually switches should be in the down position.

Oh to see the one at the transom, you may need to open a little hatch in the "floor" in between the stringers.

Agreed. The only way to really empty the mid cabin bilge...which is always wet!
