Stepping up from F 32 to 1988 12 m convertible. Need fridge that fits the cut out. I know the original is no longer available. Can anybody recommend a replacement that will fit neatly in the cut out space?

Thanks el sea!
Is this a perfect fit to the cutout in the 12 meter?

It was for us, but the cut out dimensions based on the West Marine link are 52-7/8"H x 23-1/4"W x 23-3/4"D to verify.

Looks beautiful El L Sea! I will buy one if the 12m passes sea trial Thurs. current owner has shoe horned in a house fridge that’s a foot into the galley, ugly.
What has been your experience with your 12m? What top rpm, mpg and speed do you get with the DD 671 TI’S? Current owner sealed shut the salon windows to stop chronic leaks. I plan to undo this perhaps with new windows.
Any tips on what I should look out for?

We have 671 TIB's and cruise about 20 MPH at 2000 RPM's. At this speed we burn about 40 gallons per hour. If you are talking about the front Salon windows, a previous owner removed them and glasses it all over to both "update" the look of the boat and to get rid of leaks.

You should be able to turn 2500 at wot on the sea trial ( more is good ) 2500 is the rated rpm of the 671ti and tib . 2000 rpm is a good cruise rpm like El L Sea runs

I recommend you join boatdiesel.com and read read read .

Thanks Prowlerfish. I have joined boat diesel and have read read and read. What is your experience with 6BTA engines...probably better than the DD 671ti.

I really like the 6BTAs . They have been good engines .Yes I have had some issues I did blow my port engine a few years back due to a sudden lose of coolant (1991 engine). Replace it with a newer but used RTO engine and upgraded the cooling system on the starboard so it won't have the same failure And just I replaced the turbo on the replacement engine . The turbo was replace about 14 years ago on the starboard side . But all and all I have been very happy with them in the over 15 years I have owned them . Will never go back to gas . And have never owned a boat this long .

While I am a Cummins fan , I also like the 671 . Have friends with them a know them pretty well . I would gladly own one .

Most diesels are pretty reliable and don't give you much issues . But can be costly when they do . Mine have always started and run .
