Rebedding Hatch

I'm rebedding the hatch on my boat. I have the hatch out of the boat and the safety glass out of the frame. The previous owner used aquarium silicone sealant to try to seal the safety glass. I removed most of the silicone sealant but there is still a thin film left on the safety glass. How should I remove the thin film of silicone? Can I sand it off? Would acetone work? Thanks for any recommendations.

It's real glass. I got as much off as I could with the razor blade. I'll try some acetone and see if that will get the last of it. I want to make sure I get it all off. I don't want to do all of this work for nothing. Thanks for the help.

Mr. Clean magic eraser?

The cured silicone is impervious to just about everything. Not supposed to use silicone to seal gasoline lines, so that is a hint.

The razor blades, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and acetone got the job done. The glass is now clean and ready to be re-installed. Once I get the frame clean I'll re-install the glass using Dow Corning 795 adhesive sealant. Thanks for the help.
