SPRING IS HERE!

Post by gjrylands »

:D SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

When is old man Winter going to learn to read a calendar?

The calendar says spring. The thermometer says winter here in Chicago.

SPRING YEA BUDDY!!!!!!

Post by TADTOOMUCH »

I don't care if it is warm or not. I'd sit on the boat in the slip with 6" of snow on the deck than be stuck on land or at work. I splash on April 17th and would do so earlier if I had power at the dock then. They turn off the power and water to the yacht club until April 17th.

OK, you all talked me into it. Water temp is up to 43 and the daily air temps have been 60 or better. Worst case is a heat source in engine compartment if it gets cold enough long enough!!!!!!! Time to start a list of cleaning supplies

Beer
Water hose
Beer
Water Pump
Beer
Cleaning Brush
Beer
Teak Cleaner
Beer / Rum
You get the idea

Yehawww!!!

Took the camper/cockpit covers to the local upholstery place for mending, went down cellar and fumbled around with all the boat stuff in bins, and started trickle charging the batteries. Who cares if the snow still hasn't melted in the back yard and the lake still as ice on it? BRING IT ON SPRING!!

Today it's 30 drgrees and snowing in Chicago. We get a few days of decent weather and then get slapped in the face. Weatherman is predicting 4-7". I hope he's wrong.

40's and rainy here...don't care.Spent 3 hrs working on the boat [still up on the hard],replacing engine-room floor sound proofing/insulation...whoopie....[actually the best part of my day so far...]

Talked to another doomed trojanite today at the marina...He was sitting in his [really nice] F 32,up on blocks....AC and water plugged in,watching satalite TV and drinking beer.
