"Albatross III" It was the boat's name when I bought it 5 or 6 years ago and I didn't change it-I'm superstitious especially when it comes to the water. So I left the name the same-I'm not messin' with Neptune. [/b][/i]

Light & Variable.
Named by the previous owner.
Seems like a better name for a sail boat but whatever...

Previous boat was Spending Money and it took more than that to keep it going...

the tri cabin that the 'bocknek' family had for 37 years carried the name BUBALA 3 (yiddish for sweet one). BUBALA 1 was a 17 foot run a bout, BUBALA 2 was a 31' broadwater bay breeze fly bridge cruiser.
my boat is EVENT HORIZON (i'm a sci fi weenie and it was a toss up between ENTERPRISE, CAPRICA, VOYAGER or DEFIANT) i settled on EVENT HORIZON because my partner says that when i go down to the boat i seem to vanish for hours on end, as if swallowed up by something.
although, the next one, (and i am sure there will be a next one), will probably be named CAPRICA or ENTERPRISE) others under consideration are WANDERING JEW, and to add just a smidge of ethnic pride--- HA TIKVAH (with hope), BARI VE'SHALEM (safe and sound) or YAW-SHAH M'AYIM (safe waters) all hebrew to english transliterations.

A TAD TOO MUCH

TAD are the initials of my three kids first names an also my wifes and my first names Tom And Donna.

Wave runner is named TAD POLE

I also tend to do everything to the highest level and then a TAD TOO MUCH more. So says the first mate.

She also says it stands for Tom's Attention Deficit.

Our F32 is named "Ruff In It" after my golden retriever that loves to stand in the cockpit and watch the world go by.

My current name on my f32 is rather traditinal its AliceJ named after my late mother. But I have seen a few good ones around.

For example there were two boats I saw in another marina that the owners had somthing to do with math professors or something??
Boat on the left was "SeaCant" the boat on the right was "CoSeaCant"

But the best one I saw was "Alchemist" and when asked if he was a chemist or something, (mind you this was a 60 or 70 foot Hatteras or something of that nature) he would offer a ride if you could guess........Well who can guess???

He owned a battery manufacturing company so he could turn lead into gold.....Hence Alchemist.... :D

I liked it.

Blue Heron - named for the big blue herons that nest near our boat. Boat before was a sailboat (sorry guys) - Tumbleweed. I'm the former Commodore of our yacht club and have christened and re-christened many a boat in my day. There are 2 different ceremonies for properly christening and re-christening - you can Google them. One involved urine of a virgin - good luck with that one......
