Are you sure it's not a trim tab actuator leaking?

I don't have trim tabs. I'm sure it is coming from the steering arm through the stern. The boot must of had a crack that I didn't notice. Saltwater got in and did it's thing. Thank You Much Paul :-)

Quicker on plane, trim for fuel usage, trim for wind, trim for waves, trim for best speed at throttle setting. Count the ways.

Thanks Tom for jumping in... Adjust boat trim for load changes outing to outing, reduce the wave for adjacent docks and boats (though I see many boats with tabs that still have their bow up in the air)....
On my F32 best trim seems to throw the bow wave just forward of the beam cleats as viewed from bridge helm position.

I've had the boat since 1994. Twin 454 inboards seems to do the trick. Gets on plane at 2200 rpms. Does have a Delta Conic hull. 12 foot beam mint help too. Paul :-)

You may be taking scary too literally.
All the negatives of not having them is what I found scary.... the effect on my wallet not being the least of it.

TRIM TAPS ARE FOR MAKING UP FOR THE FLAWS IN YOUR BOAT . THE BETTER THE BOAT THE LESS YOU NEED THEM

No need to SHOUT!
That ignores what the user may do to their boat to change the balance. Expecting a single boat design to be best for all types of seas, speeds and load positioning is stretching things a little don't you think?
Next minute you will say Outboard motors with power trim are to hide design defects!
You don't seem to know what you are talking about.
