Raw water pump

Post by larryeddington »

As you may know or not know I have been refreshing both my power packages in my F28. Awhile back I rebuilt both G5 Sherwood raw water pumps. (same as G-7 model). No probs with the rebuild however as I now have mounted them on the engines, one engine is standard rotation and other is reverse, I got to thinking which way do I mount the pumps. I dummied up and don't remember and no pics.

1. is there a dedicated intake and discharge?

2. if so looking at the pump pulley for rotation and that the pump hose nipples are both to one side of the pump. Does the cam side go out board on one and inboard on the other to accommodate the different rotation?
