high end auto paint vrs. saltwater

any one use auto paint for repair work? good stuff meaning 300 to 400$ a gallon clear coat system. ive done 4 boats in 20 years with no come backs, but that doesnt mean anything, im not talking about anti foul bottom paint either. just total upper restore. any body? I think i will be ok as long as i use the good stuff. bc/cc system and not some cheap single stage. what do you guys think or have u already found out? salt water is tough stuff, and im learning a new world....
