Hours run this year

Post by Mike Kulp »

Hi everybody in the spring somebody asked the question how many hours do you expect to run this year on your boat, it was then turned into a survey. So here is my question How many hours did you run on your Trojan boat this year, I do not mean your skiff and inflatible and canoe all combined I am just asking about your Trojan or Carver :) If somebody would turn this into a survey that would be great I ran a wopping 23 hours this year, so sad

Maybe 40-45 hours. Between the heat of july, fuel prices and wifes health scare in august
with breast cancer I did not do much. Planning on hauling out this sat.
Hoping 2013 will be better!

I had a great summer on my 10 Meter International Mid Cabin. 156 hours between April 1st and October 11th (haul out day was early this year due to family obligations)

Hefty fuel bill for sure running gasser's but you cant take it with you so we might as well enjoy it while we can.
I love my boat! It takes all of my money and doesn't bitch.

Wow BarryL I crunched the numbers for fuel, my mid cabin gets about 30 GPH times 156 hours = 4680 x $4.00 per gallon = $18,720.00 you would give my wife a heart attack.

Right now I would guess I am at 35+ hours

By year end I expect to be just under 50 hours this year , normally over 100 . Put some hours on in January & February a few in July , and 6 hours this weekend and hopefully some hours fishing in the next few months . but all and all a low hour year

Of course the is a slight chance of going to Carolina at the end of the month , if thats the case then I will break the 50 hour mark .

I burned only about 200 gals all season, the boat has no hour meter, but she burns between 9 and 12gph. That equates to 16 and 22 hrs. thats on my Carver

My Trojan has 1 hr on the motors in the back yard. Ill be putting about another hour soon with winterizatoin. WOW, LOOK OUT!!!!

Aaron, I might have you beat, because I have no trojan hours logged on the water!

14 hours this year. I was talking with the wife today about going to yacht clubs for dinner next year, and she thought it was a good idea. Hopefully that will help increase my time on the water.

I am fortunate enough not to have a wife to answer to so I answer to only myself and my bank book. I thought it was a great summer until you pointed out how much I spent on gas. But then I am reminded of the happiness I brought to all of the single ladies I brought out on the boat.

That reminds me of one of my favorite sayings.

Just a humble outboarder here, but I took at least 20 outings in the 7 months I have owned my KW and have logged at least 70 hours at 6 gph avg (at 25 mph avg) and have spent only $1680 bucks or so. Have spearfished over 12 dive sites and have at least fifty pounds of fish in the freezer! Next week I am diving all week off her in Destin , Florida and will log another 20-25 hours .

The big goose egg. 0 for me. The boat stayed on the hard, with the radar arch off and in my workshop. I had big intentions of having the arch back on in June, but then life intervened, and I had no time to finish. Sad, but I saved a lot on gas...lol. :o

I have less than 10 hours underway this summer on the 32 but keep in mind that I haul the boat in the summer and use it in the winter. Now as far as burning fuel, the yacht I run traveled 3,960 n. miles, visited 91 ports and burned 18,276 gallons. Total fuel bill in 93 days = $74,931.60
