good to hear everything went well. so,when are you buying that whole house genset? we have a 7kw portable, and it's the best purchase we made. thank goodness we have gas for cooking and showers. again, glad you made out okay during the storm. i know it was a big sigh of relief when you found out the boat made out okay too!

The generator is already on order. It should be here in early December. We're starting to figure out how we want the transfer box hooked up. Once we decide, we'll start getting quotes from electricians. By January, we should be set up for anything.

it will give you peace of mind to be sure. even though ours is portable, it was nice to know that all i had to do was start it up and i can have the fridge running. hearing it run last week was quite peaceful and actually helped me sleep because of the white noise. more and more houses in the neighborhood are getting them. the summer storm we had that knocked out power for days on end really gave them, and me, a wakeup call.

Good luck folks. Been working in the garage since 4 am when the winds started to pick up in VB. Gotta get as much work done as possible before the power goes and I have to use caveman tools.... :x
