Best Current Brand of Boats

Post by LLCD »

I know I might be starting WWIII, but since our beloved Trojan boats are no longer in production as we know it, we must be ready to take this question.

What would you say are your top 5 brands of boats that are in current production taking into consideration the great things about Trojans(Reliability, Engineering, comfortability, Performance (Not necessarily high speeds), and Family/weekend fun, and affordability.)

I know that volume of sales do not necessarily translate into great quality of boats (like Bayliner maybe?). I am looking to hear from those with most experience here on the forum on to see what they think.

Speaking of Hatteras boats...this one washed up on shore in Fl. last week and spent the weekend on the beach.

Then it was towed off this morning.

They have had a few major delam issues over the years. Don't know that they ever figured it out. I know lawyers loved them though

+1 . My brother had a 40 Post SF he restored. Went up in flames along with our marina back in '02. Yes indeed, they are nice looking boats.

I can agree with most mentioned except Sea Swirl, really? our Police Marine Unit just dumped their fleet and dubbed them "Sea Squirrels" handled like a POS. Went to Boston Whalers. Now there is a good boat. lets not forget Hunt, Bruckman, Limestone, Pearson, to name a few more. I have seen some bad Sea Rays as well.
