1972 F-26 Cutlass Bearing Size?

Post by vabeach1234 »

Well I'm gonna haul the boat soon to replace the prop, zincs and such. I figured it's probably time to replace the cutlass bearing (have a vibration) but I don't know the exact size I need. I know the shaft is 1" diameter but I'm not sure of the length or outside diameter of the bearing. I'm guessing that it's a 1" inside dia. X 1 1/4" ouside dia. X 4" long but I can't verify that until I'm out of the water. I'd like to order the bearing before I haul the boat so I can spend less time on the hard. Does any one know the exact size of these things for this particular boat?

This is where I plan on ordering the bearing:

Thanks,

I have some info that I've found over the years regarding the cooling system for the 318. Send me your email and I'll send you what I have.

A pdf file I found on Chrysler cooling: (good stuff)

I have some diagrams of the various cooling layouts but my putfile keeps deleting them I guess because they are copyrighted.
