Problems with my Trojan F32 78

Good afternoon friends. I own a 32 321 78 Trojan for two years. The previous owner invested the use of tanks. Water in diesel and oil in the water to gain autonomy. Now I have snot of bacteria in the tank as diesel and has no record and is between the hull and the engines I can not access them without removing the engine. I sail in the Bay of Biscay in northern Spain and the boat moves a lot. The move removes bacteria and stays in the engine stopping filters. I have to change filters, motors and starts bleeding again. I've used chemicals to kill the bacteria but I can not draw. I tried to put pressure hoses but the tanks have compartments to prevent sudden movement of the liquid.I intend to have a third decant tank where bacteria daily. I do not know what to do. The boat takes its 3400 rpm but does not exceed 14 n / h.
Any ideas please!

Thanks from Spain

Try getting a tube to the bottom of the tank and sucking any water or trash out . What size filters ? I often find diesel filters are under sized .

Good morning. The filters I use are REC 3840335
I've got hose and I got all the water but the mucus of the bacteria does not come out because the hose does not pass all compartments because of the breakwater

Thanks and regards

I am not sure how large that filter is (Volvo on engine ? ) I do recommend a large pre engine filter . As far as cleaning the tanks you could cut a access hole on top and put a plate and gasket on it for a clean out . I assume your tanks have been changed to aluminum ? If there the galvanized steel that can with the boat then I would replace them .

You say your turning 3400 rpm and 14 knots ? Has the boat speed dropped at 3400 ? What is the rated rpm of your engine and is 3400 rpm at wide open ? Sounds like you could have a dirty bottom also .

What exact engine do you have ? and rated HP

good morning
I can not open a record to put a lid because I have no access to the deposit because it is between the engine and the hull. One starboard and one to port. Unable to access without moving motors. Expensive!!. I can only change based cleaning and filters and more filters. Desperate!

Thought also put larger filters but a system like the web that send me costs more than $ 1,000. not?

2 YANMAR MARINE DIESEL 4LHA-STP 240

Potencia (cigüeñal) 177 kW (240 hp) @ 3300 rpm 177 kW (240 CV) @ 3300 rpm
Continuous rating (crankshaft) 140 kW (190 CV) @ 3100 rpm
Displacement 3.455 litros
Cylinders 4 in line Combustion system Direct injection
Starting system Electric
Electrical system 12 V, 2,5 kW
Alternator 12 voltios, 55 amperios
Cooling system Fresh water

As for the helmet under have not been cleaned and patent since January 2012. I go fishing in salt water all weekend to 3 knots and so did not notice the dirt helmet but when I go fishing tuna to 40 miles away and want some speed if I notice.

I have also changed the swim platform. Maybe that will not break the hydrodynamics. Up to 10 knots not the wave of the boat away. Nor get that plan.

I do not know how to put pictures to see the changes

Un saludo

Paul is right - you do need 2 (or even 3) levels of filtering - large filer 1st, then smaller filter(s) before diesel fuel enters the engine. Might use 10, 5 and 3 micron for example (in that order). You also should have a feul-water separator as the 1st stage in the system (often this is the 1st 10 micron filter).

If you are running 3400 RPM, you're achieving peak RPM, so engines are running well - running gear (shafts, struts, prop, rudders) may be dirty too.

Since you cannot access the tanks easily, you may need to have your fuel polished, where it is sucked through an external system of filters and cleaned and returned to the tanks (or removed if it is beyond use).

Good luck.

I agree with having the fuel polished. Local compaines can do it for you but is may not be cheap. another option is to ballast you boat at the dock to have the fuel shift to the rear or side of your fuel tank so that you may suck it out. Adding water to your lazzerette or in large barrels should cause the boat to tilt and shift fuel in which ever you need to to drain to in the tank so you may get all of it out. Also, your fuel pick up lines should be located at the lowest point in the tank. sucking fuel from there should be your best location to pull out some crud. filters, altough expensive, are a requirement on a deisel.

to take full diesel tank ship dock hung up but as I explained before the mucodsas of the bacteria remain in the breakwater

at the end I have to spend on expensive filters

thank you very much

Prop is short for propellor

yes - you must have filters for diesel engines (hard to imagine you do no have any).

There should at least be one on the side of the engine, right before the high pressure injector pump.

I would bet there is a fuel-water separator with a filter on it as well ... might say Racor on it?

Without these, you will not be able to keep the crud out of your system.

Look at ALGAE-X ... http://www.diesel-fuels.com/algae-x/mag ... ioning.php

that's not right. I have the motor filter before the injectors and also I have another pre-filter before each reference REC 3840335 engine but seems to be large enough

thanks friends
