Fiberglass or Wood core

Hello im new to this forum but I am in the process of buying a 1976 f30 express and i am wondering if the topside is all fiberglass or fiberglass with a wood core , i would just look at the boat but its 5 states away i just dont want another horror show like my last trojan.

The deck would be balsa core , the hull it self is not cored . Almost all boats will have cored decks and most balsa . pretty much standard for most brands , some newer boats will use non-wood coreing , But I don't feel its any better .

that's what i thought but the owner said the whole topside is fiber glass. He said after 1974 they did away with balsa cores

decks , cabin top all cored , Thats the way it is . It would be to heavy solid glass . Thats why you won't find many (if any ) boats with uncored top sides . Just the way it is

Be sure and checking all coring for moisture (sponginess is the 1st clue) during the Survey.
