REALLY NICE TROJAN F-40 DUAL MODE AFT CABIN

Post by aaronbocknek »

i must admit, i like the design of the dual mode f-40 flush deck. sort of a trend setter at the time she came out design wise, but classic none the less. if i were in the market for a 40' boat, she would be the one.... ENTERPRISE-A

looking at the engines, i see they are chrysler marine engines and i know that this boat had the famous underwater exhaust system trojan invented. what it looks like to me, judging from the pics, is the underwater system was replaced with a lift muffler. if anyone out there in trojan land has this type of vessel, would you mind posting pics of your exhaust system? i'd love to compare and contrast. that goes for the later model f-44's too.

thanks

sure glad I have a boat cause this one would tempt me. My boat is about 50 miles this on Lake Texoma. This one is on Lake Lewisville too small to do it justice. :(

WOW, that boat is clean! It's a shame the engine room is not on the same level as the rest of the boat.

Hey Arron, I'm not sure Trojan invented the underwater exhaust system for boats. The system with the lift pipe has been around since the 50"s.

Well, guess I can learn something everyday. I've never even heard of this style of Trojan. Did they manufacture it for more than one year? Have we ever had mention of it before on this forum? Well, I believe that it would make a great cruising boat with the installation of modern diesels (right/wrong?).

It may be priced rather high though given that there are solid 42 foot aft cabins that may be purchased in a similar price range.

Nice , But unless your not going to use the boat much , it should have diesels . Its really to large for gas . I guess on a lake the would be ok . I have 2 frends with this model . Both are power by DD 671N 310 hp a good match IMO .

Appear to be 318 but could be larger same block. The valve covers are painted in crinkle black like I have painted my new ones. Shame it does not have some nice oil burners in it.

Nice looking boat - really clean.

But its for sale in Lewisville, TX - a suburb of Dallas/Ft Worth. Unless you find a buyer right there who wants to leave it there, that boat is a long way from the Gulf and thousands of $$$ to move her anywhere by truck.

Going to watch her as I close to there, would cost maybe 1500 to move her to Texoma, much bigger lake. You never know until you let it cook awhile.
