Fuel Vent Replacement

Post by maka lea »

Boat: 2000 Express 400. The port side fuel vent broke off either when it was lifted out or put back in the water from storage. Part no. is '6002800 90 DG W/SS Trim', which I assume means 90 degree, with stainless steel trim. My question is, how to gain access to the internal side of the vent. Even if I was a contortionist, I don't think I can make it to the port side of the boat, let alone access to the part. I removed the seats in the salon to gain access to the hatches but still no way to reach or even see the tubing to the vent. If someone has replaced this unit, how did you do it and how long was your subsequent chiropractic session?
