Shipping a 1973 Sea Voyager 42 - Removing Hardtop?

Post by nmacej »

Hello everyone. I'm trying to save a 1973 Sea Voyager 42 Flushdeck from the crusher. The issue is I need to have her shipped about 300 miles (wait for it...) Into Boston. Ah yes... the land of roads made from old carriage paths and pot-holes. Needless to say, I'm more than worried about her hull staying intact on through transport, but before I can panic about that, I need to get her to 12ft, so that she'll come under the 13'6" on the lowboy.

Does anyone know if the hardtop is able to be removed? And if so, Would I need to remove the entire super-structure, or just the Hardtop/Windshield?

If anyone has gone through this, I'd love some tips on avoiding pit-falls.

Thanks!!!

Nick
