1955 Trojan Runabout

Post by john.wilson9 »

This boat was free off of craigslist and it is in need of repair. I am not going for show quality but the goal is to get it right and in the water by next summer. The boat was given to me as a Chris-Craft Kit but after going to the ACBS show in St Micheals MD is is clearly a Trojan.

The hull number (stamped on the transom knee) is N5001.

The most significant problem is that the 1st previous owner cut the center board and all of the foot boards about 3' from the transom, on the right rear of the boat to patch a leak(?). Sometime prior to that the boat hull was covered in fiberglass.

The question are can the centerboard and footboard be repaired without removing the hull and can the fiberglass be removed from the hull without destroying the plywood.

Thanks John
