Using the term bumpers instead of the name fenders.
Ropes instead of the term lines.
Galley as opposed to kitchen.
Bathroom as opposed to head.
Bedroom as opposed to berth.

Hope you were just inconsistent... Most of your beefs show BAD term instead of GOOD term. Hoping you prefer Galley over kitchen... :)

PS - I agree with your (and Paul's subsequent) posts. Think I have ranted at least a couple of times in the past re the difference between 'boaters', and 'people who own boats', and totally get it. One has respect for what they are dealing with, for the other it just another toy and they just don't get it - and may put lives at risk every time the leave the dock because of that. If you get into trouble 5 miles offshore (or even 1 mile), you can't just pull your boat off to the side of the road and wait for AAA... You need to know how to secure and control your situation, use a VHF to call for help, make your situation safer, and make sure you have enough time for help to arrive - or people die.

Having mini-ranted about that.... there are a lot of new members on the forum over the past year or so who may have used the 'bad' terms, because they don't know any better. Don't want to bash them, as they haven't had a chance yet to learn - and I they learn and their rebuilds go as planned. Those that make an effort to join the boating community - I have respect for. Those who insist on talking about bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens... I just don't want to meet you on the water because I have no idea what you are going to do, because you have no idea what you are supposed to do. Having said that, I know people at my marina who have owned a boat for 5-15 years, who still refer to upstairs, downstairs, kitchen, living room, and bathroom... I won't cruise with them either.
