Good Bye Art

Art was a retired electrical engineer who took great pride in completely retoring his wooden Pacemaker convertible. "Work of Art" is one of the nicest woodies in the area. Art didn't take his girl out much, in fact we always joked around that he still had leaded fuel in her. He would take the kids out once a season and that was all the open water she would see for the year. He would walk to the marina everyday, sit back on his cockpit, have a few shots of Rye, and engage everyone that walked by. He was a wealth of knowledge, and had some great stories. At the end of most nights, he would pack it up and walk back home. I've missed Art over the last few years, life just get's in the way sometimes. Unfortunately, Art was found in the water last Saturday lying along side the boat he loved so much. It is still unclear as to what happened though we have a pretty good idea. I suspect Work of Art will be sold, hope the next owner takes just as good care of her, maybe she'll see more open water now. I kind of think Art would like that.

Be carefull around the docks when you're on your own folks. In an instant, everything changes for those left behind.

Here's to beautiful sunsets ahead Art.

Thanks guys. Hard for me to picture "Work Of Art" without Art sitting on the aft deck. But the image will be burned in my mind forever.

Hello to all my Pacemaker lovers. I have a 1963 36ft flybridge sedan which is my love and joy. She has been completely re-done I keep her under cover at Keswick Ontario Canada and visit with her nearly every day even in the winter. By the way the name of my love is WORK OF ART

Sincere Condolences, we have a few old timers here as well, and we recently lost one as well. Time has a way of catching up.
