Todays hike was Cascade and Porter. 6.2 miles round trip, and 3500 feet of elevation change. It took 5 1/2 hours. Both peaks are over 4000 feet in elevation at the summit. Todays summit temp was a balmy 12 degrees F. The winds were cracking at over 35 MPH. I had to sidestep on my knees the last 30 yards with my head down and into the wind to be able to tap the summit and reverse. Had I stood at that point I would have been blown off my feet. For those of you that don't climb, this is actually a "sport" of sorts. Its called winter peakbagging.

Its white sand Jamie. Don't let the lack of leaves on the trees confuse you. It was 85 and no wind all day.
