Re: Performance numbers International & F Boats 1989
THANK YOU BOB,
note: based on published dry weights, boats tested, especially those tested for the press MAY HAVE BEEN SHOWN with less options, leading to lower weights and better performance numbers.
Options like: generator, windlass & chain, microwave, icemaker, fridge, deck furniture, wetbar, stove, air conditioning, radar arch and other options could account for the differences between published weights and actual real world numbers.
My 10 meter with the worn factory Crusaders never came close to the published performance data
In running the number calculations to choose the correct propellers for the new diesel engines in 2006 I relied on the published dry weight of my 1983 model 330 10 meter International Express - 12,500 lbs
setting her in the water AFTER installing the aluminum turbodiesels we weighed her on the travellift
full fuel 244 gallons
full genny tank 17 gallons
full waster tank 40 gallons
full waste tank 40 gallons
tools
spares
spare anchor & chain
spare shaft
all options listed above
While the travellift weight is likely not exact, she weighed in at SURPRISE, SURPRISE............. just over 18,000 pounds
We knew before even turning the key that she was overpropped
We had to order another set of wheels for her
Lessons learned.
