Trim tabs or ZipWakes?

Post by ce31708 »

Has anyone put a ZipWake system on your Trojan? I'm trying to decide if I should replace my factory trim tabs with larger ones, or invest the money into a ZipWave system. I have a 10M midcabin.
Any thoughts or opinions on which system and why would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know of any Trojans with them. However I have a friend with them on a 42 ocean. He likes them over regular trim tabs. Not sure if its auto system. With that said it would be much cheaper to increase your tab size.

The problem with the mid cabin is it’s tabs down all the time (including my larger drop fin units). I never “trim out”… like you do on other boats. I have inclinometer mounted at the helm and it’s right where the factory specifies. If the zip wakes could reduce this scenario/less drag that would be a game changer.
