2009 Trojan rendezvous

Post by prowlersfish »

This is a copy of a email I got from Kent Terry : please note the contact person runs the marina and guest houses and is not in charge of therendezvous
Paul

The 2008 rendezvous was a great time by all who was there. we only had 8 boats because it conflicted with Pirates Wenches weekend set up by Rock Hall. I didn't know about it at the time we had set it up. We also had a lot of Captains and crews for the cocktail party on Friday night and the meeting and dinner Saturday night. At the meeting Saturday morning we had John Leeds and a surprise visit by Cap.Ted Zang, the Trojan plants official Captain. He also brought with him all kinds of old Trojan memorabilia. So that is what happened last year.
This year the season is fast coming upon us. So in the interest of moving further south a little at a time, I have made slip arrangements for Friday August 21 threw Sunday August 23 at Higgins Yacht yard & Cottages in St. Michaels, Md.
The contact person is:

203-205 Carpenter St.
St. Michaels, Md. 21663
P- 410-745-2929
cell - 443-786-0513

Each Captain has to contact her for slips. It is on a first come first served biases. there is enough slips that we can take the whole Marina. They also have cottages for those who want to drive instead of coming by Yacht.
I'm sorry for not sending out a news letter sooner on last year's rendezvous, I had a lot of other things to deal with last year. Everything is ok for now.
There will be more to come later.

Will.

I am thinking about it Its a long run from Hampton .but may try to fit it in with yearly bay cruse . I had planed on it last year but diesel was near 5 bucks a galon and I burned $1000 bucks worth in one week in july on the "Bay Cruse "

The cost would much more to go to the rendezvous in Rock Hall . Its a liltle closer and fuel prices are down . I just hope thet stay down ,

Haven't really had the chance to head south in the Trojan yet. In my old "let me bite my tongue" bayliner I've been down to chesapeake beach and the wye river in a center console to go crabbing. That's about the extent of it by boat. I have trailered my old center console down around the solomons area on the western side and crisfield on the eastern side.

All I know, it's more then you want to spend just to get there. Now double it.
