89 mid cabin vacuflush wiring

Post by mrrudely »

Posssibly an odd request
vacuflush system
I am trying to trace the path of the hot wire that goes to the vacuum pump switch at the vacuum tank
I am looking for an easier place to tap into it
I can see that it goes from the switch and disappears into a hole right by the forward shower drain
almost certainly under the shower pan
I have opened up a large area at the bottom of the sink cabinet but no luck
I don't need the schematic as I am looking for the physical wire

thx

RR,
When replacing all of my sanitary hoses and installing a sump pump, I located those wires on my 1988 Mid-cabin. On mine they run underneath the shower pan as you described, but then went up inside the closet behind the toilet. I had to remove the closet shelves and such to locate them. I actually tied my sump pump into the existing shower drain switch, but at least I found the vacuum switch wires.

Hope this helps!

Now, tell me how you fastened your radar arch panels without visible screw heads!!! :)

thanks for that
I remodeled the head so it is a bit awkward but easy for me to access that area
I have seen the wires for the shower drain switch but not the vacuflush
I will check again

the radar arch was a project but not too difficult
the side panels were not easy to remove because of all the caulking and I think I remember a
hidden screw under the widow frame rubber molding

I glued a thin piece of plywood behind the top of the panel creating a lip (after upholstery)
I then epoxied a block to the radar arch to which I could screw into
I believe the panels are stiff enough and did not need anything in the middle

For the small curved parts I think I got lucky as they are a little springy so with the
help of some velcro they just snapped into place for the most part

For the top part all the attachments are behind the led lights
Maybe a lip at the ends like the side panels
I believe I glued some wood stringers lengthwise to stiffen the panel (probably as close to the outer edges as possible)
I epoxied wood blocks to the radar arch behind each light
I glued wood blocks to the panel where each light went
the blocks were fashioned to allow for the thickness of the lights and room for the wires to pass

let me know if you have any questions

behind the toilet I find wires for the shower drain pump and switch
and wires going to the vacuflush level lights
but nothing for the vacuflush pressure switch
any other thoughts?

RR,
I'm going down to the boat this afternoon. let me doublecheck the vacuum switch wiring route and get back to you. I'll take pics if I can.

Sorry for the delay in replying, but thank you for the information regarding the radar arch.

RR,
The vacuum switch wiring definitely goes underneath the shower pan and ends up going through the closet (underneath the bottom shelf). It does however, go under the sink vanity first. It ends up going up the side of the hull and then runs behind the removable bolster board (at least on mine) on it's way to the DC panel.
