may not be perfect a lot better than what we got. To bad the Republicans have been so successful with their campaign of hate and misinformation. Seems to me they're not really for anything except getting reelected and playing politics.

The methods the dems are using to pass this are beyond belief and this bill is not what the American people want. If the bill is not right it needs to be dropped.

beyond belief? Do you mean passing legislation with the majority of votes given by the peoples duly elected representatives? Do you mean trying to get the actual facts out there? Half the problem here is that most people who are shrilly screaming against this don't even understand what's really in the package, they think it's a government takeover and is going to balloon the deficit. The congressional budget office estimates this will save the government $1.3 trillion over the next 20 years... not to mention how this is going to help millions of families. I suppose history will remember how the Republicans tried to block health-care reform the same way they tried to block the implementation of Social Security, and Medicare...uhh... With the same arguments.... Wow... I'm having déjà vu.

Peter,

My dad was a life long Dem, and as most people did years ago, I follow his path, and was a Dem myself, up until a few years ago. I am now a independent.

Now I just can't understand why any person could put his/her political party above the country. Thank god that most people are now starting to switch to being an independent.

We have been told about this health care bill, only what they want us to know.

This bill is 2700 pages long, and those who take the time to read it on line won't be able to understand it, unless they are a dam good lawyer.

It has not been the GOP who have been holding up this health bill, it has been the Dems, themselves! The Dems comtrol both houses and the president. They could have passed this bill the day after it was presented if they wanted to.

Besides that, it has been the dems who have rejected all the ideas from the GOP. Everyone of the suggestions by the GOP would have saved the American people billions of dollars.

I know your a great guy, but you need to watch other tv and Internet news outlets, and find out what is really going on out there.

Fox news has more people watching them than, ABC, NBC, CBS CNN, and MSNBC, combined. There has to be a reason for that, don't you think?

They are taking $500 Billion dollars away from Medicare to help pay for this health plan. Medicare is already almost bankrupt! You till me how that works out.

My wife just got on Medicare and chose the Advantage plan, and now that will go away and cost us even more money, after this power crab bill passes.

Ask yourself, why they intend to start taking the taxes from us as soon as it passes, but the so called health care, won't start till 2014. The reason is, if it started now, the people will start to understand what it's going to cost them, and Obama won't be reelected in 2012. And they won't have the money to do so!

For myself, I hope this November, we get rid of all of them, GOP and DEMS. Congress and the president are out of control!

We all have to stop being a DEM, or GOPer, and start being AMERICANS, before they bankrupt this country as it happened in Russia!

Larry

Peter, do you really believe the CBO is correct. Besides, if you check the facts, you will see that SS, and other bills were bipartisan, and there were GOP votes for them.

Every government program they created has cost double, if not trippled it's cost from what they said it would.
Your facts and reason, just don't add up. But I'm afraid you will find out all this in the future and your going to find out the hard way.

thank you Larry for your reasoned response. I agree with you that there is too much politics in politics. I like printed sources for my news, usually newspapers because you can get much more detail, than on any particular left-leaning or right leaning political source of hatertainment. I would consider myself a liberal, but an independent. This whole debate has been a grudge f**k right from the get go. I'm sure you realize that your wife's "doughnut hole" is going to slowly disappear, being completely gone by 2020. This is the type of thing that gets lost in both the conservative and liberal barrage of BS... having effective social programs such as basic healthcare shouldn't be labeled Socialist or Communist.

I would love to have FREE health care for everyone living in the US legally.

What concerns me most here is, "how their doing it", This is OUR government at it's WORST!

HOW, are they going to pay for it? They are truly blowing smoke up our a-s, telling us how they will, now.

In the future, our children, and their children, and their children will be paying for it.

It takes billions and billions of dollars, and years to discover new drugs. It takes years and very smart people to discover new methods of health care.

How is that going to be paid for? But the current president blames the drug companies and R & D companies for the rising costs of health care. If you do away with both of these,,,,we're screwed.

Our current president's only concerned is to go down in histiory as being, the president who changed the health care system, regardless of whether it's the correct way or not! His neck is stuck out so far by spending all of his first months in office and have it fail!

Do I want health care for everyone,,,,you bet! But not like this bullsh-t. I want the TRUTH from the people who we elect! I think that myself and others can handle the truth. I am a person who is getting tired of being screwed by my government.
