Well we sat in the . The nasty wind and clouds all day it sucked . Then dinner time came along time to start up the gen set and it started up and died! Well #$%@ I said and start moving rugs and stuff put the pups aft and down in the engine room I go, looked for loose wires fuses nothing. Then look for gas . Well I can't smell any and this after I've cranked it a few times. Go to fuel pump and pull on the hot lead and it came apart the 23 yr old wire was shot. Well it only took 5 mins and some wire and 3 or 4 I'm a man who's your John Wayne babiies  to fix it and dinner and heat was on the way. ( and yes I used tinned wire) .

Those pics are E.C. and the ditch today. Got underway at 8 and started back home, stop at Lambs marnia it had 4'6" of water in the channel but we need gas so in we went and then the dock was a joke it was made for 25 footers not an loa's of 42 but the gas was only 2.79 a gallon and needing 146 it was worth it. Then on we went. Got to the locks early so tied up and cooked lunch. Then headed on up to the welcome center for the night more free dock space  we'll be off for the run home tomorrow .o and we bumped 1 log today.

Thanks for the beautiful photos. To those of us who have never even seen the ICW these are a real treat. I would love to be able to travel on that.

here's the last entry on this trip I would like to thank Jammie for posting the pic's for me ( I'll know how by the next one ) some of the number of the trip we did 256 nmiles at an avg. speed of 10.5 kts. that's .97 mpg not to bad that includes a 22 kt 30 min run in to the wind and a 2.5 hr 15 kt run in to the wind and 3 to 4 footers last Saturday on the lower bay. the old boat ran well for us all week the engines never missed a lick, the gen-set failed once and that was fix in short order. the salon/saloon (if the crown is out) ac was the only thing I couldn't fix underway, no spare parts I've been told to make sure I have spare ac parts on her before the next trip. and also if you plan on doing this trip and using the free docks bring a 5 gallon water jug to fill up with, there's hose bibs put you'll need 300 foot of hose to use them to fill up with, and gas ONE marina in E.C. to get gas and no #2 oil for you other guys. This was our longest time underway we were on the boat for 8 days and did kill each other once all 4 of us enjoyed it. We'll be glad to do it again if any one wants to put a Trojan sail together the trip can be done in 3 days ez. So shoot me any questions you have I'll be glad to answer them. It was the best 1k I spent all yr.

Is the ICW relatively deep? Is it salt water or brackish water? (maybe a stupid question but thought I'd ask it) Any good fishing along the way in the ICW?
