Greetings! I recently picked up an abandoned Trojan 25 Hardtop Express. It was primarily used as a Coast Guard Auxiliary patrol vessel for 10 years, then sat untouched at a marina on Nabbs Creek for 7 more. I tracked down the owner, paid $1 for the title, traded a couple of outboards for a rebuilt GM 350 and BW drive, pulled the seized 318 and am trying to get it all together before it gets too cold to work outside.
I browsed this forum for a few weeks gathering information before signing up and just wanted to say thanks for some of the tech stuff I gleaned. Now if I could just find the correct prop...
I've been sailing the bay and the Potomac for about 15 years and have been surviving by salvaging sailboats on the upper and middle Chesapeake for the last two years, as a victim of the current "economic crisis". So don't be offended when I defend blowboaters
Your prop should be in the 14x10 to 14x11 range . I would start with the 14x10 my self . a 12x12 also may work . the 318 and 350 props should be real close .
I see your in the Chesapeake bay there is a lot of us there , Maybe you will join us for the round up next year

Welcome. This is a great place with a wealth of knowledge. The web host has all the parts and such you would need. Be sure to call on Bob or John if you need anything. They have it or know were to get it.
Blow-boater, rag-bagger? I thought it was like a carmeled apple, a boat on a stick. .....Welcome aboard, we have alot of fun here, there's good people here to help. again welcome.
Welcome to the forum. I grew up on the Bodkins so I know it fairly well. Good luck on the refurbishing project.

Thanks everyone. I found a 12x10 on an old Trojan 30 waiting for the crusher and put it on. It will do to get me back to the Bodkin this week. Will change it when I have her hauled for paint in the Spring. New shaft log sleeve, cleaned and greased the seacocks, and floated her this afternoon. If I can find an alternator, a bendix for the starter that doesn't bang on the flywheel and the correct hose fittings for the heat exchanger, she'll be repowered and we'll be down the Patapsco to home by Wed.
