over heating
hello all last weekend i started to over heat the port moter let me start by saying pick ups are clean strainer is clean cirk pump is good and impeller is 1 year old new 160 deg stat and timimg is dead on 5 deg 318 fwc and i was running 2500 rpm stb moter is fine any ideas
Fresh or raw water cooled,,
Im chasing same problam , I think I found the problam in the risers, , mine would over heat slowly after getting on plane, coupled with slight loss of atifreez after pulling manifolds and risers the risers are severly rusted,, I have fresh water manifolds, that seem to be ok,

1st and foremost I would verify the reading with an ir gun, first make sure there really is a problem then start the diagnostics. The 2nd I would do is back flush the engine for debris, tranny cooler etc as it says above. These are cheap and easy places to start.
