NORCOLD AC/DC 12 VOLT WIRING
I HAVE A NORCOLD DE 400C REFRIGERATOR ON MY 1975 F-26.
THE WIRES WERE NOT LABELED OR CONNECTED WHEN I BOUGHT THE OLD BOAT.
I AM UNABLE TO FIND OUT WHICH WIRE OF THE 12 VOLTS SIDE IS POSITIVE, WHITE OR BLACK.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH COLOR WIRE BLACK OR WHITE GOES TO THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY?
THANKS DON

Here is the wiring diagram from a '79 DE-400A. Black to negative, red to positive. But if you have white (?), maybe you can follow the wires and compare to the diagram to figure out which is which.
Sorry the pic is so big, but at least more readable this way.
I may have more info somewhere else around here (on paper) and will pass along anything useful I find. My fridge crapped out a couple of year back and I ended up scabbing the electrical guts of a different unit into mine. If I remember right, the 'donor' fridge had slightly different wiring than mine.

Unless changes have been made, black should always be the negative conductor unless of course we're talking newer apps that use yellow. Follow the white wire into the unit, chances are the first component it connects to will be the circuit protection device such as breaker or fuse typically indicating the positive side.

Maybe he is refering to the boats wiring color code black and white? If that is the case I think the black is normally positive and white is ground/negative?
