Canada Update
Hey all,
Haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I'd re-introduce myself again;
I'm Graham Cardoza, from Ontario, Canada. I purchased a 1984 10 meter Trojan International mid summer and have done a lot of work and cruised with it all summer.
Some of you may remember my original posting;

Anyways, the boat has run excellent all summer and is now blocked and unhappy!!!
Here's some updated photos;

you're right, my mistake. from a quick look on my part, i thought it was a lift. only human.Commissionpoint wrote:Check yer contact lenses Aaron. That boat is on beams and blocks not a lift.
graham, looking at the raft up, i see one of the boats was not only flying the canadian flag, but the israeli flag too!! (my eyes DID catch that one detail!)
do you know the israeli flag boat? just curious.

Can you see the steel "I" Beams on pics 6 and 7 overhead? They use a lift with straps that runs along that "I" Beam to lift the boats, then put them down onto the wooden beams.summer storm wrote:OK, I give up. How do you get the boat in and out of the water or is that just winter storage? And if it is winter storage, how do you work on the bottom?
The boat can be lifted higher, and platform made under the boat on the beams to do your work.
Some marinas have individual lifts for each dock, but that is mega $$

This is for winter storage. Four chainfalls (manual or electric), one on each corner, two slings; one at the bow for the two forward chainfalls and one aft. Lift up then sit her on timbers. Newer places will have the "I" beams so you can roll the chainfalls over to the next boat.summer storm wrote:OK, I give up. Work done off a raft, dinghy, whatever you have, or wait 'till it freezes and stand on the ice.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.
