Help identifying, need weight and beam

Post by GenMil »

So I am buying a Trojan finally. Below are two pictures. It is claimed to be an 85 30' FlyBridge. Does this look accurate? I looked up F30's and they do not seem to be quite the same. Any idea on what the real model is and the weight/beam? I need to have it transported 190 miles and the movers want real numbers. Thank you all.

Looks like a customized F30 Clean Machine. If it is your looking at 30'overall length, 11'1" beam (width), and approximately 8100 lbs. Not sure of overall height. Hope this helps.

Thanks, the owner confirmed the weight and length off the title a few minutes ago. Has two 350's instead of the 318's. Did these come with velvet drives?

Whats the estimated price I should look to pay? He claimed 32 knots when he took her out with the new motors. Can the hull take that speed? Yes this is my first saltwater boat (been on and leased a few over the years). This one needs the bottom scraped of 2 yrs of buildup and painted.

That is a F30 Clean machine , It is not a 1985 maybe a 75 . Do you have the Hull ID numbers . weight 8000-8100 dry ad for fuel and water etc. Mine use to cruse around 20 knots , top end with your 350s could be 31. Whats it worth ? hard to say in this market, and without seeing the boat in person there is a lot of custom work done on this boat and that can ad value or take it away depending on the buyer and how well its done . I prefer it more stock myself. My biggest peeve would be the rear cleats the stock set up was great . but someone else may like it .

I agree with the year after looking all over. The inside is all redone, new appliances and coverings. The removed the stock head and put in a porta potty (boo). Engines have 4 hours on them, one transmission is new. Bottom is covered and needs scraped/cleaned. Electrical was all re-done, new panel. Looking to pick her up for around 5K without trailer. She has sat for 2 years.

That said, I have talked to 3 transporters and no one believes the weight. They keep saying its 12-13K easy. I can see an extra 500 lbs MAYBE from all the custom interior work.

I am on the fence whether to pay 1200 to have it moved and blocked on my property so I can fix her up a little more or finding an adequate trailer and pulling her with my 2500. I know I need an oversize load permit due to the 11 ft beam. How hefty of a trailer do I need? Thanks again.

2 years of build up and only 5 hours on the engines ? I assume the bottom was clean when it did 31 knots ?

It could go well over 9000 lbs wet easily if your shipper is limited to a low weight I would be careful .

5k sounds good if no major issues . a survey is always a good idea

Found a nice loadmaster trailer, guy mentioned the 13 ft height restriction in my state. Anyone know how high these sit on a trailer? Yes this is my first big boat move (moved other heavy loads).

Since it has been sitting, will pay marina to set it down on my trailer to make things easy.

3K for a 2004 loadmaster 10K trailer sound ok?

You could be pushing the trailer to the limits or over 8100 dry I see a lot off f-glass work done ad for fuel and water glass may have some water socked in , wet coring on the decks etc . and ember the trailer was rated 10k when new .

Good points. I can confirm that the gas and water hold are empty. Will keep looking at trailers. The height has me concerned a little.

I wish I could answer on the hight for sure But you can measure the hight off the water then add the draft to that , the draft is 26" .

Now getting a trailer to fit a twin inboard man not be fun and back to the weight Trojan list The clean machine at 8100 but the list both the single and twin engine at that so that figure may be light ?? ( I have the sheet in front of me ) beam is 11'1" the clean machine was call the F30 sport sedan when it was built . A great boat .

Saw your other post on the canvas most of that is custom made for the boat .a guess 4-6k ??

Btw welcome to the forum .

Looks like 8 foot 6 inches above water. Add 26" and maybe 18 for the trailer. Does just over 12.5 feet sound right?

Two things. First 13'6" is the legal height in all 48 states, but as Paul mentioned double check your route BEFORE the move. 2nd) the rating on ANY trailer also includes the weight of the trailer. Also is that 2004 loadmaster a tri-axle trailer? It should be. Only asking because my car trailer is a 10k and is only a tandem.
