Great Forum and Great Info

Post by kboette1 »

Hey guys, I just came across this page about a month ago during my search for a new boat. I was going to look at a Trojan and did not have a lot of experience with them. I ended up purchasing it. It is a 1988 F-36. She is in great shape and I look forward to finding out if it floats  I'm sure I will be here with lots of questions and projects. Thanks again for the great forum!

Ya welcome home. You're going to like it here. Ask away. We have a great bunch always willing to help and learn. No such thing as silly questions here. Looking forward to helping out and seeing some pictures. Can't wait 'till she's floating!

We are very excited. I looked at a ton of boats this year (at least 50) and once I saw this boat it was love.... Now begins the love/hate boat relationship... The surveyor only had 3 items he recommended. He wants me to replace the clamps on the rubber boot on the shaft seals, some of the engine mounting bolts are rusted, and the bilge blower hoses are all ripped up. Not bad overall. We have not done a sea trial yet. We are doing that April 4th. We have $$ in escrow for the engines, transmissions, generator and electronics. There are some really crappy boats out there.... The broker told me this boat really shows nice and he was surprised it hadn't sold.... I told him I had seen a lot of boats like that..... He assured me that it was real nice etc.... What do you know... He was right.

Some of us live north of the boarder, but we still know how to help.

I think the 2 largest groups of Trojan boaters here on the Chesapeake bay and north of the Border . Never did a count but it seems that way .

There is a bunch of Trojans here too, but I don't know if any of them even know this site exists. Off the top of my head I can think of about a dozen other Trojans on this lake. There are probably more than that.

The boat will be located in Mystic, Ct. Strictly salt water right near the exit of long island sound. We live in NH, but have friends and family all at the same marina. We will be there most every weekend and a couple of week long trips as well. One is usually to block island.
