When? Oh yeah ... 2 minutes have passed ...
Yes, the Marine engines were probably rated higher, but still have a lot of weight for a pair of small block engines to push ...
Check it out, you can probably get a few MPH more, and not lug the engines down as much, with the proper prop combo ...

Yes, we have to clean the bottom every 3 weeks in the summer here ... some areas every 2 weeks.

Clean the bottom every 3 weeks? Hopefully in the slip! I can't see paying $6/ft to haul & wash the bottom every 3 weeks!
I almost think they are 2 barrel carburetors. I'll check when I wander out to the boat again to verify it.
I'm definitely thinking the engine should be going faster than 3,000 rpm wot. Maybe new props are in order. Aren't they like $250+ ea?

I would hire a diver to clean the running gear , cheak with other boaters at your marina to see who they use . when its clean then you can see the rpm its turning , Then you will know if you need to change props . you may be able to re work the old ones . I have used bay propeller they do good work . When you look at the engines see what HP they are

You don't need to haul the boat to clean it. You have a diver come by on a regular schedule and clean it. Theres one visiting your marina now, so check around ... its $100 per visit here on my F32.

Those 318's should be 4200 RPM at WOT w/ 4bbl carbs: 225 bhp each.
