scott and bigD, i too like the 3888. in fact, prior to the tri cabin purchase, i was seriously looking at not one, but two that were for sale in the area. both had the hinos and the vessels were all in all pretty good shape. i love the layout too. what tanked the deal on one was the owners wife all of a sudden changed her mind and wanted to hang onto the boat for a few more seasons. the second one, the owner refused to bargain. his price point was way too high for the market and he kept repeating 'sweat equity factor' and 'overall upgrades'. i can appreciate that, hell, we all can when it comes to our boats. but the bottom line was the price point. i'm happy with my tri cabin though as it was the one i was going for in the long run. but i still like the 3888 and one never knows what the future holds. at least we made it past MAYAN CALENDAR DAYBig D wrote:Scott, I like the 3888 also. Have worked on quite a few of them. I really like the layout, and would really fit the family's needs. As long as it's the Hinos and not the Chrysler diesels though. Wish they were a little faster too.
