Hey guys and gals. the previous owner of my F28 airbrushed the boat name on the transom and on both sides. Any ideas on how to get this off????? Have no idea what kind of paint was used.

Use oven cleaner to remove the paint. Follow the oven cleaner with vinegar to remove yellowing caused by the oven cleaner
Check out the thread on page 2 titled "F32 Cabin Stripe Removal." This posting dicusses the removal of paint from gelcoat.

how long do you keep the oven cleaner on the painted surface???
do you have to agitate the cleaner with something like a scouring pad??

oven cleaner is a good idea, but I used rubbing and polishing compound to get the name off my boat, it goes pretty fast with a rotational machine, a little slower with a vibrating machine,
depending how long the name has been on , your going to see a shadow, but if you put on a new name it should cover.
