I have a Hynautic hydraulic steering system on my 1987 F-32 that needs replacing, but I cannot find any part no. identification on either the pump or the helm unit. The owners manual is for the H-50 series, but there are 3 models (H-51, 52 and 53). Does anyone know the right one for this boat

Just curious, how do you know it needs replacing? Is the pump bad? Could be you are sucking air , I guess I am asking what is the problem with your system that makes you want to replace it. Our 11 meter has the original system and it works fine and it is a 1988.

The system on my 1982 was losing pressure and leaking up around the flybridge helm a couple years ago. My mechanic came with some kind of new washer set he got for it and fixed it in a half hour. He did say that system is good forever except for the occasional leak you have to fix.

In defense of the system, a 40 foot live oak tree landed on the flybridge during Hurricane Charley and probably got the leak started. It's a testament to the system that $15 worth of washers repaired the damage.

Here is a site that lists steps to troubleshoot hydraulic steering problems.
